Mr. Wahab Musah Ayamga, chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sissala East constituency in the Upper West Region has vowed to attack the Member of Parliament(MP) for the area, Alijata Sulemana for allegedly assaulting him over the weekend.

Mr. Ayamga last Friday reported a case of physical assault inflicted on him by the MP at the Sissala East district Police command.

[contextly_sidebar id=”XwLp98NesDz7gePiRcOPX2lLXOwDetOG”]Not satisfied with the pace of investigation by the Police, he later on in the evening that same day allegedly attacked the MP at Tokrobelle, a suburb of Tumu.

The Police in Tumu told Citi News they are vigorously pursuing the matter.

But in an interview with Citi News, the angry-looking chairman said his action on the Sissala East legislator marked the beginning of plans to regain his “lost reputation.”

According to him the slap he recieved from Alijata remain an indictment not just on him as chairman but his entire generation and men in general, hence, his readiness to fight out his blood to redeem the lost image.

He fumed: “I won’t leave this issue. As a chairman, for MP to slap me, no I won’t take it because I have never seen that before. So this I am telling you I won’t leave it. I won’t accept this nonsense. The thing is that we all want peace but if the woman has shown that she doesn’t want peace and I will show her that I am more violent than her”.

Mr. Wahab further appealed to the Privileges Committee in Ghana’s parliament to sanction the MP to serve as deterrent.

“The case must go forward” he stressed.

Alijata Sulemana reportedly slapped the chairman when he tried to separate a scuffle be her and the DCE for Sissala East, Johnson Sabor.

Several attempts including phone calls and text messages to get the lawmaker comment on the issue were unsuccessful.

But speaking to a Tumu based local radio station, Alijata denied slapping or seeing the chairman when the altercation ensued between her and Johnson Sabor at the DCE’s office.

“I never slapped him. I didn’t even see him. In any case does he work at the assembly?”
