Accra Great Olympics will play in the First Capital Plus league after a close fought 2-1 win over Tema Youth in Zone 3 of the first division.
In a game that was nearly marred by the disgraceful behaviour of Tema Youth CEO,Wilfred Osei, Olympics dug deep to overturn an early deficit after conceding to Isaac Nyarko in the 18th minute.
Olympics stepped up the pressure in search of an equalizer but Tema Youth keeper Abraham Odonkor stood firm as he made save after save.
Olympics however found an opening in the 44th minute as Abraham Annan headed in a Dotse Agbashie free kick to bring the large Olympics support to their feet and deflate the lads from Tema.
The second half resumed with both teams creating good openings. Tema Youth were the first to get a clear chance as Ekow Benson swung in a free kick that almost beat goalkeeper Joshua Akrefi.
Olympics responded with their front line of Hans Sarpei Jnr and Lawrence Odai causing havoc.
Their persistence paid off to the delight of their fans in the 51st minute when Joseph Armah added the second goal.
The goal instead of bringing the fight from Tema Youth rather saw petulence as they reacted to every call from referee Lamptey leading to a pitch invasion from CEO Wilfred Osei Palmer.
The CEO persistently urged his team to leave the pitch in protest but was first restrained by his coach, Prince Owusu and later by King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Gruzah.
With time running out of time Olympics dug in and defended resolutely till the final whistle to ensure a glorious return to the top flight.
