Black Stars team-mates Andre and Jordan found the net against each other on Saturday at Villa Park, when Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Swansea City.

The brothers had dominated headlines ahead of the match that made them ‘enemies’ for the second time in months after they were on opposing sides in last season’s French Ligue 1 match between Marseille and Lorient at the Stade Velodrome.

That Friday night, Jordan Ayew scored twice to help Lorient beat Marseille despite Andre’s goal for the team. But Andre had his ‘revenge’ when he slid home the winner for Swansea in the second half.

Jordan scored in the 62nd minute after heading low from Gabriel Agbonlahor’s cross.

Ironically, 60 seconds earlier, his brother Andre went close to scoring for Swansea but his shot was saved by Brad Guzan and Villa found the net in the ensuing attack.

However, Andre could not be denied his part in the Ayew family story as he raced into the area to poke home the winner in the 87th minute.

His team-mate Gyilfi Sigurdsson had fired home a wonderful equalizer from a free kick in the 68th minute.

The win gave Swansea 3 points to move up to 11th while Villa are 19th on 4 points and their manager Tim Sherwood faces more pressure after a poor start to the season.

Aston Villa play against Tottenham in the league next weekend while Swansea take on Arsenal.
