The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Aluta Boys in Tamale have condemned the release of five youth activists of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who were jailed for life.

A Court of Appeal in Kumasi on Wednesday acquitted and discharged Yahuza Yakubu, Majeed Alhassan, Habib Mohammed Dagbana, Shaibu Alhassan and Moro Gundaana.

However, the NDC Aluta Boys in a Citi News interview described the ruling as an affront to justice.

They argued that the incarcerated NPP men should have faced the full rigors of the law.

They served notice to retaliate over the court ruling during this year’s fire festival (Bugum) celebration.

They further accused the law enforcement online pharmacy agencies of selective justice and called for the release of some of their colleagues in police custody.

On the other hand, the NPP Kandaha Boys in Aboabo applauded the courts verdict.

According to them, their brethren were wrongly jailed in 2013 over the murder of Rashid Alhassan, an NDC youth activist in Tamale.

They commended Lawyer Obiri Boahen and Lawyer Shaibu Alhassan for their selfless commitment.

Majeed Mariam, wife of Alhassan Majeed praised God for her husband’s release.
