The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will give disqualified aspirants the opportunity to challenge their disqualification.

A Deputy General Secretary of the party Mr. Koku Anyidoho said “those who have been disqualified have a right to petition against their disqualification.”

[contextly_sidebar id=”EBtjhTpp4M3eBFti0X94N3QX718jJ7wj”]The national leadership disqualified 12 aspirants out of 23 that were forwarded to them for clearance, ahead of the party’s primaries on November 7.

Mr. Anyidoho said that the privilege to petition is “their constitutional right and the rules of engagement and our party constitution allows for petition.”

He rather encouraged those who want to petition to forward their grievances to the National secretariat since “it’s the national that took the decision,” he added.

Five aspirants were given the green light to contest, while five others were put on hold. Eleven of them were disqualified, he further indicated that “in the case of two gentlemen one from North Tongu and one from Elembele, their cases are pending meaning that we are looking deeper into the issues at hand.”
