The Deputy Director of research of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otukonor has stated he was not offended by comments of former President Rawlings describing him and others  as ‘babies with sharp teeth’.

The former President at a special delegates’ congress of the NDC in 2012 expressed his dissatisfaction with developments within the party,  indicating that certain individuals were castigating others who had toiled for the party.

[contextly_sidebar id=”JwOp9vVEQ1fyGKdzm0uz68pevdJxSwsE”]Peter Otukonor who was suspected to be one of such ‘babies’ on Point blank on Eyewitness said, “I didn’t feel anything about it especially coming from our founder and there was nothing to worry about, at the time we were very critical of the NPP and our communications were on point, it was our responsibility to expose the mischief and the lies that came from the opposition party.”

Peter Otukonor who is a former Director of the National Youth Authority is contesting the Ablekuma Central seat in the upcoming primaries of the NDC.

He argues the exit of the incumbent MP, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie will create some disunity within the party which he is capable of addressing,

“On one hand yes and on the other hand no. Tetteh Chaie is not contesting and there is a vacuum and there is the need for someone to replace him. We also need a person to increase the votes for President Mahama in the 2016 elections, by so doing we need a very credible candidate and I am that person,” he stated.

Peter Otokunor is facing competition from a former constituency chairman, Halidu Haruna and another aspirant, Basha Harsey.
