Technical director of Feyenoord Football Academy, Sam Arday, has indicated that the team’s place in next season’s First Capital Plus Premier League was a result of a good beginning to the Division One League.

The team returned to the nation’s elite league after beating Dunkwa United 2-1 to seal top spot in Zone 3 of the Middle League to end a seven-year absence.

Speaking to Citi Sports in an interview on Monday, Arday said starting on the right note proved vital to their campaign.

” The key word for us was preparation and we gave ourselves an early start.

The team is now made up of the remnants of last year’s team and some under-17 players so we had to get them working together over a period.

They are a talented group with high technical and tactical abilities.”

Feyenoord lost only once in the regular season and finished top of Zone 2B with 31 points and Arday said the positive brand of football that earned them promotion would continue in the Premier League next season.

“Ghanaians have come to expect nice football from us and we will give them that.
We have a blend of pace and artistry and if the players can show about 80 percent of these traits in the matches, we will be fine.

The coaches are working hard and I trust them to deliver.”

Feyenoord will be joined in the Premier League by Great Olympics who are also coming back into the top flight four years after they were relegated.
