Ghana’s representatives at the 2015 Enactus World Cup, Tamale Polytechnic, have been drawn in what analysts have termed the group of death at the 2015 Enactus World Cup at Johannesburg, South Africa.

The group consists of the competition’s favorites — Germany, Zimbabwe, and Australia.

Germany and Zimbabwe, two powerhouses in the competition are serial finalists with Germany winning more than one of the World Cup events.

Speaking to Philip Ashon, Citi FM’s correspondent at the annual competition, country leader for Enactus in Ghana, Baba Sayuti indicated: “I believe that Ghana will emerge from the group stages of the competition despite the opponents she has been drawn against.

This is because the kind of projects that Tamale Polytechnic embarked on are self sustaining and potentially profitable projects which I believe will position them appropriately among the contenders. I believe in Team Ghana and I know they we will make Ghana proud. “

The Enactus World Cup is an annual event that brings 3, 500 entrepreneurial students and top global leaders together.

The students showcase their ideas to panel of judges in a series of engaging and challenging sessions after which a global winner is announced.

Students are given the opportunity to share their impact projects and gain wisdom from cross-generational learning opportunities.

The team from Ghana, Tamale Polytechnic, qualified for the World Cup after beating off competition from nine participating teams in the national competition.

The team will showcase their key projects initiatives, including EDU 4 Life, Shea Business Improvement and Enactus Touching Lives.

Over 70,500 participants from over 1,700 universities from 36 countries are participating in the 2015 edition of the event.
