Energy Minister, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has given the assurance there will be no fuel shortage following the explosion of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) pipeline on Tuesday.

The Minister gave the guarantee when he visited the facility on Wednesday to survey the extent of damage the explosion caused.

Addressing the media, Mr. Buah disclosed that his Ministry has consulted the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) “and we are comfortable with the stock levels and so there will not be immediate shortage.

He however stated that repair works on the pipeline will be done as soon as possible “to ensure these leakages don’t happen again.”

The 14 inch pipeline on Tuesday exploded when some TOR officials were sealing a leakage in the pipeline.

The explosion killed one and injured three others.

The pipeline transports a chemical called Naphtha to the Tema Port for onward export.

The Head of Public Relations at TOR, Aba Lokko in an earlier interview with Citi News revealed that the refinery lost about $280, 000 due to the explosion.
