Residents of Komenda and surrounding villages in the Central Region have received their fair share of Vodafone Ghana Foundation’s free medical screening, as part of the company’s efforts at keeping the citizenry healthy.
[contextly_sidebar id=”jxEP3rqbEyrqgzJurTXSafiI3Zb9N1YT”]The screening exercise dubbed ‘Healthfest,’ has so far visited communities including Alajo, Ashaiman, Glefe, Accra New Town, Tema New Town, La, Nungua, Teshie, Sogakope, Betom (Koforidua) and other communities.
Commenting on the screening, Nana Yaa Ofori-Koree, Head of Vodafone Ghana Foundation said:
“The screening demonstrates our commitment to the communities in which our workers live and work. A healthy nation is necessary for the country’s quest to attain progressive economic growth and we are happy to be supporting in this drive. Last year alone we were able to screen over 5,000 individuals across Ghana. Going forward, we are confident that the Healthfest train will continue to touch lives in all the regions across the country.”
A 76 year-old beneficiary of the project in Komenda, Agatha Onumah expressed appreciation to Vodafone Foundation for taking huge medical bills off her family’s budget: “I don’t feel well and I have been longing for the opportunity to get medical treatment. Thankfully, my wish has been fulfilled by Vodafone’s timely intervention. They not only diagnosed my ailment but supported me with free medication as well.”
