The Vodafone Foundation last week met its stakeholders to strategize on how to complement government’s efforts in meeting the targets set in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to the CEO of Vodafone, Haris Broumidis, the forum was to afford them the opportunity to engage and “seek input into our strategy to be adopted by the Foundation. The outcome of this forum will enable us deliver projects that are relevant and have sustainable positive impacts on the lives of Ghanaians.”
[contextly_sidebar id=”FfOPZztzzqu5G9SbKWa1c3KsO5ireu4K”]The Vodafone Foundation was established in 2009 to serve as the charity arm of Vodafone Ghana and drive sustainable social interventions in communities across the country.
Since its establishment, the Foundation has moved from just funding projects to investing into developing pioneering and sustainable initiatives that solve pressing social issues and benefit several communities and the country as as a whole.
Haris Broumidis said the Foundation has in previous year’s helped government in a number of ways in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the health sector, gender equality and women empowerment.
“At Vodafone Ghana we place invaluable importance on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and continue to look for creative opportunities to contribute to the communities in which we operate through the Vodafone Foundation.”
Haris Broumidis assured that his outfit is “committed to supporting the government in making progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
