The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is expected to receive preliminary report on what caused a Starbow plane, to crash through the runway barricade of the Tamale Airport on Tuesday.

None of the over seventy passengers on board sustained any injury

[contextly_sidebar id=”k2qzDtHpCvZchfbmv7tHSSTcisxPT7Oo”]The accident happened just a few days after the airline received the IATA Operational Safety Audit certificate, following the completion of an audit for modern operational safety requirement compliance.

According to the Deputy Director-General, Finance and Administration of the GCAA, Abdullai Alhassan, a team of inspectors have been dispatched to the accident scene to investigate the incident.

“We have dispatched our inspectors to asses the problem and come out with a report so we get the updates. For now we don’t want us to guess the causes of the incident,”he said.

Meanwhile the GCAA has noted that air flight activities to and from Tamale in the Northern Region have been interrupted because of the incident.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, the Deputy Director of GCAA, Abdulai Alhassan said they are at the place investigating the cause of the accident and they will relay their findings to the public on Wednesday.
