The Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho has warned workers of statutory institutions that regulate land acquisition and use to abide by the rules and regulations of their profession.

[contextly_sidebar id=”fr1nOyTdaqoDmaHEBmFydae18WQI4zZc”]Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate the Ho Municipal Assembly, Doe Adjaho said challenges such as improper disposal of waste, and poor land-use and planning could be avoided if officials of the Town and Country Planning Department, Survey Department and the Land Commission follow the rules and regulations guiding their profession.

He therefore cautioned workers of such statutory institutions to be professional in the discharge of their duties.

“I want to take this opportunity to caution our friends in the Town and Country Planning Department, Survey Department and the Lands Commission to abide by the rules and regulations of their profession concerning the allocation of plots and ensure that these plots are developed according to their designated land use in order to avoid the danger of flooding and the accompanying loss of lives and property as being experienced in the past of this country anytime it rains.”

The first meeting of the Ho Municipal Assembly saw Mr Bene Seyram Eric, the assembly member for Ho-Amevor Electoral area elected Presiding Member of the Assembly.
