Football fans across the globe are looking forward to some of the most difficult but intriguing matches in Europe’s best leagues this week. But the most exciting features are in the English Premier League (EPL).

Ghanaians will also be keenly monitoring names like Dede Ayew, who hasn’t scored in three consecutive games and Baba Rahman who is still looking for his premier league debut.

Everton vs Liverpool

The Merseyside derby kicks off at 12:30 with the blue side of the region playing as host. Though Liverpool are yet to hit form this season only one point separate them from their local rivals. Everton will be counting on in-form striker Lukaku who scored twice and assisted the other when the toffees came from 2 goals down to defeat Westbrom on Monday night.

The Reds on the other hand will hope Sturridge has finally buried his persistent injury blues. Coincidentally he also scored 2 to help Liverpool beat Aston Villa by the same score line 3-2. One thing this fixture will be missing is absence Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. Apart from that it promises to be a high-octane game as usual.

Arsenal Vs Manchester United

The last EPL game of Super-Super will see the Red Devils take on Arsenal at the emirate stadium. Luis Van Gaal’s side is the most in-form team in the league, picking every point available in last month’s fixtures. Arsenal on the other-hand are having a topsy-turvy season with their manager under alot of pressure from the media with his decision to start 2nd choice keeper Ospina in their midweek ucl home defeat in the hands of Olympiakos.

Wayne Rooney

This fixture has come at the right time for under-fire Man United striker Wayne Rooney who has scored only one goal in the league so far this season. The striker has a brilliant record against Arsenal, netting 14 goals against the gunners. Will Wenger silence his critics? Will it be another happy day for Rooney against Arsenal? Sunday 3pm – 5pm has all the answers follow the action live on Citi 97.3.

Chelsea Vs Southampton – 16:30 GMT

Nothings seems to be going right for last season’s champions after recording their 5th loss of the season away to FC Porto in the UCL on Tuesday. Who would have thought Chelsea will be entering week 8 of the PL lying 14th on the log? Mourinho ought to fix his team particularly the defence. Will Mourinho ring some chances in their clash with the Saints. Will the chances affect the lateral defence so that Baba Rahman get his 1st PL start? Only ‘Mou’ knows.

Swansea City Vs Tottenham Hotspurs – 15:00 GMT

Swansea City started the season in red hot form but are now without a win in their last 3 PL games. The Swans will have negotiate points with Spurs who are unbeaten since losing on match day one to league leaders Manchester United.

Swansea’s loss of form coincided with goal drought of their attackers Gomis and Ayew. Gary Monk needs to work on his attackers to regain their form if they have any hopes of picking point(s) from in-form Hotspurs who thrashed Man City last week.

AFC Bournemouth Vs Watford – 14:00 GMT AFC

Bournemouth will play host to Watford in a game involving newly promoted sides. Both clubs are doing quite well and are above the drop zone. Christain Atsu made history by being the 1st Bournemouth player to be listed for the FIFA Ballon d’or award. The Ghanaian winger will hope this feat will at least earn him a place on the Bournemouth bench having failed to make their EPL match-day squad since moving there on-loan from Chelsea.

Aston Villa Vs Stoke City – 14:00

This clash will pit the 17th place side against the 18th placed club. Both regular mid-table clubs are having a season to forget with only 2 wins between them. Ghana’s Jordan Ayew earned praises from Villa coach Gary Monk with a brilliant display coming on as a sub in their league cup win over city rivals Birmingham but that didn’t earn him a starting berth in their loss to Liverpool 3 days later.

The lead striker spot at Villa is there for taking and Jordan Ayew will do himself some good when he manages to come in as a sub.

Norwich City Vs Leicester City

Jeffery Schlupp’s Leicester lost their 1st game of the season when the gunners came to the King Power stadium to beat them. They will hope to get back to winning ways when they travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich. The game promises a lot of fun and goals as the two sides love to attack.
