President John Mahama will today [Wednesday] address the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

[contextly_sidebar id=”vCkvfeLdVTLH6IITodg8n5eKkJjzOimv”]The address is to make a case for the global leaders to commit themselves to action in meeting set developmental goals.

Sources close to the presidency told Citi News presidential correspondent Richard Mensah that the president will be touching on issues related to development, social mobility and equity.

He is also expected to touch on issues affecting the African continent especially on economies that are not performing well and proffer possible solutions on how to come out of such predicament.

President Mahama at a dialogue session of the UN Sustainable Development Summit on Sunday charged his fellow African leaders to commit resources into developing their agricultural and energy sectors and  not use flashy shopping malls as a measure of development.

The President had also in a jointly organized meeting with the German Chancellor and the Norwegian Prime Minister emphasized the need for efficient investment in the health sector in order to ensure that primary health care is enhanced and sustained in developing countries.
