The Queens are owed a total of 23,000 dollars per player covering qualifying matches for the 2016 Rio Olympics and the All Africa Games campaign where the team won gold, after beating Cameroon 1-0 in the final.
[contextly_sidebar id=”TUeTlobsSq4hiXrmt3djRMryBZOzpYvs”]The Ministry of Youth and Sports had directed the team to leave the M Plaza hotel over the weekend but after a two hour meeting with Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi today, the Queens insist they will stay.
Speaking to Citi News after the meeting, Head Coach of the Black Queens, Yusif Basigi revealed that the Queens would stay because it would be difficult regroup for their monies later.
“ Once the negotiations are still ongoing definitely they (Queens) have to relax because some of them are from far and wide of the country so they going and coming back will be a problem so they will just and around and see what happens.” he said
Meanwhile the Marketing Executive of M Plaza Hotel, Eva Love Mensah explained that despite a directive from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to terminate the stay of the Queens of the Hotel, they are hoping the Chairperson of the Black Queens Management team, Leanier Addy would ensure the payment of hotel bills that will accrue as a result of the Queens continuous stay.
The Black Queens are expected to meet President Mahama immediately he returns from his trip to the UN General Assembly.
This visit is what they hope will finally bring positive news with regards to the money to them.
