Finally, four or more household beneficiaries are to receive GH¢106 from a previous amount of GH¢96.
The pro-poor initiative is government’s intervention to support living conditions of the less privileged in the society in the areas of health, education, food as well as provision of cash transfers.
Speaking to citifmonline.com, the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs. Dela Sowah, said the ministry will supervise disbursement of the grants across 20 districts in the Volta Region covering about 9,000 household beneficiaries.
The inclusion of some new districts, according her, saw a corresponding increase in the number of household beneficiaries.
“What is very special with this one is that, the amount has been increased and then the beneficiary households have also been increased” she said noted.
She said the beneficiaries were also registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme at no cost as part of the package.
