Security operatives are on a high alert in the Karaga district of the Northern Region.
This is to avert an alleged ploy by some angry youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Karaga constituency to destroy party paraphernalia over the disqualification of Mohammed Kamil, a Parliamentary aspirant.

The 32 years old former employee of the Ghana Health Service was disqualified by the vetting committee chaired by the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
Mohammed Kamil was disqualified on grounds that he is an alien in the Karaga constituency.
His disqualification has since generated tension in the NDC’s camp for which reason security operatives there are on a high alert.
Mohammed Kamil’s teeming supporters earlier in a Citi News interview accused the constituency executives of plotting to have the incumbent MP, Sualihu Alhassan Dandawa go unopposed.
Spokesperson for the Coalition of NDC Youth Groups in Karaga, Alhassan Fuseini described Mohammed Kamil’s disqualification as undemocratic.
He warned that the NDC risked losing the Karaga seat in 2016 if the vetting committee’s decision is not overturned.
“2016 is going to cause the party because as we stand now the incumbent MP is not popular and that is our fear.”
“If the party executives both regional and constituency think they will push him through for reasons best known to them we are afraid of losing the seat,” he lamented.
Alhassan Fuseini encouraged Mohammed Kamil to use legitimate means to seek redress.
“For now what we can tell Mohammed Kamil is that he should use all legal means possible to get into the race so that Karaga will be sure that we will have the chance to vote a preferred Parliamentary candidate.”
