Fire guts parts of Tema Industrial Area

Reports reaching Citi News indicate that a pipeline belonging to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has exploded, setting fire to nearby structures in and around the Tema Industrial Area.

According to sources, the fire from the explosion occurred near a warehouse close to the Tema Oil Refinery, injuring at least one person.

Eyewitnesses suspect “fuel spillage” as the cause of the explosion.

Speaking to Citi News, the Acting Head of the Public Relations of the Ghana Fire Service, Ellis Robinson Oko, said fire fighters have been deployed to fight the inferno.

“Our men are fire-fighting on the ground,” he said.
