The Bolgatanga Regional Hospital has discharged two of the seven persons who were injured during renewed chieftaincy clashes last Saturday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”3Bh8kkyHkWW7KuGph5wzjKAM0xrgH1Jl”]Speaking to Citi News, a surgical specialist at the hospital, Dr. Davor Anthony said “we received seven patients, out of which currently five are on admission and two were discharged a day after the incident.”

“The five on admission, three have undergone surgery (laparotomies ) and  they will be here a minimum of one day and one of them will be here for a day and the rest will be here for maybe three days and the other two females we expect to do their surgery for them today and they will go home today. But one of them is suppose to be referred because he has a fracture and since we don’t have an orthopedic surgeon here we have to send him to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital to see the orthopedic surgeon” .

Some of the victims in an interaction with Citi News said they were responding to treatment whilst others were patiently waiting on doctors for a successful surgery.

They described last Saturday’s shooting incident as unfortunate and prayed it does not recur.

The Upper East Regional Security Committee (REGSEC) comprising  all heads of  security in the region led by the Deputy Regional Minister, Daniel Syme, have visited the victims at the Hospital.
