Facebook goes down: Says ‘Sorry, something went wrong’

Facebook went offline for many users across the world.

When visiting facebook.com, instead of seeing the normal homescreen or news feed, users are greeted with a blank screen and a short error message.

The world’s most popular social network posted the message “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.”

Facebook’s last major outage was earlier in January, during a problem that was claimed by hacking groups but appeared actually to be due to an error by Facebook

Twitter was not left out on this. Many took to the platform to talk about Facebook going down and soon the hashtag #FacebookDown trended worldwide.
