The 32-year-old man who sustained bullet wounds on his eye during the Let My Vote Count Alliance demonstration, has rejected claims by some critics that his injury was faked.

[contextly_sidebar id=”fveCNQ6GPKPwlPOj4Ym6IwpgAVoKjPbQ”]Michael Asamoah, reportedly sustained rubber bullet wounds during the demonstration and subsequently underwent surgery at the Police Hospital in Accra.

In an interview with Citi News Mr. Asamoah said he is currently recovering.

He cautioned those doing politics with the matter to desist from it saying “If they were to be in the pain I am going through, I don’t think they will do what they are doing.”

“I don’t think somebody who is not sick will say I am sick because at the end he would be forced to take medicine.  They should continue and I know they will one day go through the same thing,” he added.

Another victim lost one of his eyes during the demonstration.

Justice Adzakumah has been described by the NPP’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo as a “freedom fighter.”

“You have joined a long line of Ghanaian patriots who have had to sacrifice to get us where we are now. There is a long line of people who, like you, spilled their blood for our country. One day when we are mentioning the names of Ghanaian freedom fighters and democrats, they will mention your name. You made a huge sacrifice for our nation,” Nana Akufo-Addo noted after he paid Justice a visit at his Nima New Town residence in Accra.
