A private legal practitioner, Kwame Waje has said the management of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) would be charged for contempt if indeed they received the court writ barring them from showing journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ judicial corruption video.
The premiere of the video started showing on Tuesday evening at the conference centre.

“If the service was complete on them and then it is proven in court by the court bailiff, it means therefore that they know that there is a motion to be moved called an interlocutory injunction, if somebody is trying to restrain you from doing an act and you refuse to restrain yourself and go ahead and behave in the manner in which the person sought to refrain you it is contemptuous of the entire court process,” he said.
Lawyer Waje further noted that the decision to suspend the public viewing was to be determined by the Tiger Pi team.
“While there is an impending application especially an injunction application before a court, you disrespect the application at your own detriment so whether to show or not to show will be dependent on the person on whom the application has been etched,” he stated.
For his part, law lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Poku Adusei believeds the decision to publicly show the video does not necessarily mean they have disrespect the court.
He also disagreed with assertions that the Tiger Eye Pi team were acting in contempt despite a case in court by some 14 judges who among other things are seeking to restrain the public viewing of the video.
Meanwhile manager of the facility, Kofi Appiah in an interview with Citi News acknowledged receipt of a document from the court but denied content of the documents.
“… I took the document and signed on behalf of the ministry of foreign affairs”, he said.
