The Ghana Police Service has inaugurated 99 new National Service Personnel deployed under the Urban Traffic Management Module.

In a speech read on his behalf, the Inspector General of the Ghana Police Service, Mohammed Alhassan charged the service personnel “to go out and eschew all forms of indiscipline, be committed and remain dedicated to the task assigned to them.”

“Information reaching us indicates that, they are all doing very well and are committed to the various tasks assigned to them. A lot will therefore be expected from you to put up a better performance to surpass your predecessors”, he added.

The speech was during a passing out ceremony organized for the National Service Traffic Assistants at the Ghana Police Training School at Tesano in Accra.

The 99 personnel who are part of the third batch passed out will join some 340 already deployed personnel.

Speaking to some of the personnel, they expressed satisfaction with the module as they say the “training is good” for them.

One of the female service persons who said it has been dream to join the armed forces said she sees the opportunity as a stepping stone towards that dream.

Some of the personnel were however, not happy as one said he would change his posting if he ever gets the chance.

He further, said the module will be waste of human resource if they are just going to deploy thousands of graduates yearly to go direct traffic.

The National Service Secretariat has deployed over 75,000 national service personnel for the 2015/2016 service year.
