The National Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially met with the Disciplinary Committee of the party over the former’s demand for the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko.
The Council about a fortnight ago, wrote to the Disciplinary Committee asking that Mr. Afoko be investigated for breaching the party’s constitution.

“The National Council appeared before the disciplinary committee to as it were table the letters formally and answer any querry and we even made recommendations to the disciplinary committee and the disciplinary committee in its own time will probably make announcements with regards to the kind of release that the National Council of Elders asked for.”
Afoko has been criticized for making public statements on the party’s finances, a practice that was described as a breach of the laid down procedures.
In a statement, Afoko alleged that NPP Members of Parliament had stopped providing financial support for the party.
“..The monthly financial support from the party’s Members of Parliament has ceased since February 2015,” he alleged.
His statement angered party members who called for his suspension and dismissal.
