The committee investigating allegations of corruption against 22 judges will sit today to continue its work.

Lawyers for some of the magistrates are however pushing for an indefinite suspension of their meetings until a suit pending in court is determined.
Some of the magistrates have filed a writ at the High Court questioning the legality of the process.
14 out of the 22 accused judges, in their writ said their “suspension is in bad faith,” and that the court should declare the suspension “null and void.”
The Chief Justice set up the committee to investigate allegations of corruption against the magistrates following the exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremyaw Anas.

Another judge amongst the 12 high court judges accused of taking bribes in the latest investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has filed a suit at the Accra Fast Track Court seeking to among others, challenge the legality of the impeachment proceedings against him.
Justice Mohammed Habib Logoh in a writ filed on Tuesday, is seeking 10 reliefs, key among them being a declaration that the audio-visual recording is unlawful and cannot be used in determining the outcome of the investigations by the judicial council.
