A defeated assembly candidate during the district level elections in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region is threatening to sue the Electoral Commission.

[contextly_sidebar id=”bZwdf4HwcZAMYiGpqEAPJeIebOoiNBsu”]Bingana Azizi is protesting the results declared in the Mimima electoral area in the West Mamprusi district which caused his defeat.

According to him, the Electoral Commission ignored his petition on over voting recorded at Mimima electoral area.

He insisted that the assembly election results declared in the Minima electoral area did to tally with that of the biometric verification machine.

“The total ballot papers were 461 while those in the verification machine were 458.”

He condemned the EC for ignoring his petition for which reason he is heading to court.

“The EC’s inability to address election problems in the district level elections means Ghanaians should be worried about what is likely to happen in the 2016 general elections,” Azizi warned.
