Ghana’s Andre Ayew has been named as the Barclays Premier League Player for the month of August.
The former Marseille man picked up the award ahead of his Swansea City team-mate Bafetimbi Gomis and Manchester City duo of David Silva and Aleksandr Kolarov.
Ayew has scored three goals so far for Swansea in their four league matches played to help them place fourth with eight points.
The Ghanaian scored on his debut at Chelsea and against both Newcastle and Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium.
While Ayew was named as the top player, Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini was awarded with the manager’s gong for August.
The Chilean guided the Citizens to four straight wins without conceding and top place in the league.
