President John Mahama has appealed to Ghanaians for another term in office following what he referred to as an “impressive performance” in the first term in office.

The President made this statement when he addressed party supporters at the party’s headquarters after filing his nomination to contest in the NDC’s presidential primaries slated for November 7.

“…We will accelerate the economic growth of this country and consolidate the transition of Ghana into middle income status within the next five years by the time I come to the end of my second term in office,” he said.

The President added “…We have been colour and party blind in taking action against persons suspected to have engaged in acts of corruption and this non-discriminatory attitude against corruption will be sustained so long as I remained president.”

He further appealed to party supporters to continue to work in unity to ensure the NDC secures power in 2016.

“We in the NDC are united to prosecute the national development agenda with a sense of unity and humility. I urge all of you to play by the rules and act in accordance with the principles of fair play and decency, it is through this that we can emerge a stronger force to record another spectacular victory  in 2016,” he said.
