Inter Allies continued their impressive run in the second round of the First Capital Plus Premier League with a 1-0 home win over New Edubiase at the Tema Park.

Neara Benigo scored the winner in the second half to hand the home side 37 points and 6th place; one place and a point above the defeated opponents.

Defending champions, Asante Kotoko, were beaten 3-1 in Kumasi by Wa All Stars.

The visitors found the win via goals from Michael Mensah, who scored a brace, and Ishamel Ganiu.

The Reds scored their consolation through Seidu Bancey to bring a bit of gloss on a poor performance on a day when a victory would have clinched the club’s third straight title in three years.

With the win, Wa All Stars move up to 5th on 39 points while Kotoko remain on 51 points.

Hasaacas were the round’s biggest winners as they beat Hearts of Oak by three goals to zero.

A brace from Samuel Afful and a late strike from Augustine Arhinful handed Hasaacas the win to take them to 4th on 39 points while the Phobians are third on 41 points.

In other results, Liberty Professionals beat Amidaus 2-1 at the Carl Reindorf Park and AshantiGold drew goalless with King Faisal at the Len Clay Stadium.

Week 27 results:

Asante Kotoko 1 – 3 Wa All Stars
Berekum Chelsea 1 – 0 Dwarfs
Liberty Professionals 2 – 1 Amidaus Profs.
AshantiGold FC 0 – 0 King Faisal
Inter-Allies 1 – 0 Edubiase FC
