The Committee tasked to investigate allegations of diversion of party funds in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called for disciplinary action against Baah Acheamfuor, the man who caused the police to investigate the matter.

[contextly_sidebar id=”iEbd2iybDYnjffXuAafNzMmGGFSyEwFe”]According to the committee, his actions were against the regulations of the NPP, especially when they had been commissioned by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party to look into the matter.

“The punishment of any kind are set up by the party and it is the disciplinary committee that will make the appropriate recommendations for NEC to determine,” a member of the committee Joe Osei Owusu in an interview with Citi News said.

“At the NEC meeting, nobody alleged that there had been misapplication or diversion of the party funds. I think the party has ruled. First of all, I don’t know him. I don’t know his relation to the party. I don’t know if he is a card bearing member. If he is a card bearing member then the disciplinary proceedings of the party will be implemented.”

My reputation tarnished

Meanwhile the First National Vice Chairman of the party, Freddie Blay has stated that his reputation has been tarnished by the brouhaha.

The two [Freddie Blay and Baah Acheamfour] are being accused of operating a secret account without following party procedures but Mr. Blay has debunked such claims.
