The President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday pay a one-day working visit to Ghana.

According to a statement from Ghana’s presidency, Mr Buhari “will be welcomed at the Golden Jubilee Lounge by President John Dramani Mahama.”

This will be Mr Buhari’s first visit to Ghana after the March polls which was Nigeria’s first ever election victory by an opposition party.

The statement however did not exactly say what the two leaders would be discussing during the visit.

President Mahama led a delegation from Ghana to support Mr Buhari during his coronation.

Just after his election, Mahama congratulated Buhari on his victory and said his triumph “marks an important milestone, not only in the democratic development of Nigeria but also the continent as a whole.”
