A former Member of Parliament for the Adentan constituency, Adu Asare has described the man contesting President Mahama in the presidential primaries of the NDC as a “misfit.”

Speaking on The Big Issue, Adu Asare stated that comments from George Boateng do not portray him as a member of the NDC.

[contextly_sidebar id=”7Hn7vr2s9OHe3quGen3vuArgu3zHjhiI”]“…Following from interviews he has granted to media houses, we can assess  whoever we are talking about and based on that we think that he is a misfit, in terms of we believing that he is NDC, he doesn’t fit in…,”

“I have listened to that gentleman personally and I don’t believe the gentleman is an NDC person, I don’t,” he added.

The former MP’s comments come in days after two officials at the national headquarters of the party were sacked for what the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia referred to as an administrative lapse.

George Boateng said has picked nomination forms to contest President Mahama in the primaries slated for November 7, 2015.

His decision which comes despite suggestions by some executives of the party that President Mahama goes unopposed, has been met with some controversy.

Addressing party supporters on Thursday after Vice President Amissah Arthur picked nomination forms on behalf of President Mahama; Johnson Asiedu Nketia insisted that the forms issued to George Boateng were not valid because they were only draft copies which were not embossed with the party’s seal.

George Boateng who initially maintained that the forms were genuine has however hinted of plans to go in for a replacement by next week.
