The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini is championing a cause to have his contender in the NDC primaries, Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu resign his position as a civil servant.

Inusah Fuseini argues that it is illegal for Mr. Seidu, who is the Director of Feeder Roads to contest in the primaries when he is still at post.

[contextly_sidebar id=”XzpgZAZCiuMAdmW7lGVco6HPImmfUpVb”]“On the face of the law a civil servant cannot engage in partisan politics without first resigning his position as a civil servant and to the best of my knowledge he has not resigned.”

“The Head of the Civil Service attention will be drawn to that and I intend to keep to the laws. In upholding the laws of this country there are many things that we are doing at the Ministry of Roads and Highways and I intend to stick by the laws.”

Mr Fuseini further clarified that moves to compel Mr. Seidu to resign is justifiable since the Supreme Court only cleared workers of the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Highway Authority which excludes the Feeder Roads Service – the company where Mr. Seidu works, to engage in partisan politics.

Insuah’s Legacy

The Minister also spelt out what he termed as developmental projects he has undertaken in the area which makes him the best candidate for the primaries.

“I provided resources from my GET Fund releases to have some schools renovated. I also built a three classroom lock in the [Northern] region…I put pen to paper and wrote to GET fund to help me build a day nursery for Tamale…”

He believes projects undertaken in the area and roles served in the area makes him the best candidate to represent the residents in the area.

“I have worked as the Secretary to the Legal Committee .I have worked as an Electoral Member of the party. I have represented the party in court….”

Inusah Fuseini is also the Minister of Roads and Highways. He hopes to retain his seat as the incumbent MP of the Tamale Central area.
