As the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) inch closer, more party members are entering the race.
[contextly_sidebar id=”mPHr2nv3gVrveGxTZeDEqnEMOud13w6q”]Many of those aspiring to enter the chamber of 275 legislators, have vowed to unseat incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) particularly those who they believe have served the house for too long and should make way for others.
44-year-old Businessman, Gandhi Mawuenyegah, is one of such aspirants who has picked up forms to contest in the primaries in the Anlo Constituency of the Volta Region.
Gandhi Mawuenyegah, who is making a second attempt said, he is poised to unseat the incumbent MP Clement Kofi Humado, who has been an MP since 2004 and has served in some ministerial positions.
Mr Mawuenyegah said there is very little to show for the leadership of the incumbent MP who is seeking re-election.
Speaking to Citi News, Mawuenyaegah said his vision of economic empowerment for the area makes him the best man for the job.
“… For 12 years, we have had Hon. Humado at the helm of affairs with very little development in Anlo. We realise that every time, all he talks about is schools, hospitals and roads. However, these are things that are done in other constituencies and they are government projects or community initiated projects. What we are trying to do is to create for the individual person an economic empowerment plan so that they can have money in their pockets,” he said.
