The party is expected to hold primaries for both presidential and parliamentary candidates on November 7.
There were calls for President Mahama to go unopposed prior to the opening of nominations.

But the youth organizer of the Oyarifa branch of the NDC, George Boateng on Monday picked up nomination forms to contest the President.
According to him, President Mahama has failed to address what he referred to as the numerous challenges facing the country.
