One dead, two critically injured in Nyanyano demolition

One person is reportedly dead and two persons are critically injured after some clashes between residents and security personnel in Kojo Oku, near Nyanyano on Thursday morning.

The clashes occurred during a demolition exercise in the area.

An eyewitness who spoke to Citi News said the owner of the estate, led a combined team of military and police personnel to demolish some structures in the area.

“He led the security men to demolish the structures”, he said.

There were disagreements between the occupants of the structures and the demolishing team”, he said.

The altercation according to the eyewitness led to the security men firing several rounds of shots and physically attacking some of the occupants of the structures and added that “I saw one motionless body and two critically injured persons”.

A source with the Kasoa District Police Command confirmed the incident to Citi News.
