Roads Minister, Inusah Fuseini’s attempt to go unopposed during the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primaries has hit a snag.
[contextly_sidebar id=”4FMPTbtfjkRNFHaYNwKekyiZhnLY4dXG”]This is because three persons including Engineer Ibrahim Seidu of the Department of Feeder Roads have picked nomination forms.
Engineer Ibrahim Seidu in a Citi News interview vowed to outdo the Tamale Central Legislator at the primary.
He said Inusah Fuseini had nothing new to offer his constituents for which reason he should be replaced at the primary.
He downplayed comments that Inusah Fuseini could use money to influence the delegates’ decision.
“I am in this game especially in Tamale Central where I don’t think it is only resources one can use to win the primary: I think the human relationship and one’s vision and leadership style matters.”
He added, “I am promising them a very transparent leadership in Tamale Central and with everybody coming on board we will be able to succeed and I believe we can move on from where he has left.”
Engineer Ibrahim Seidu called for a healthy contest. “This is just a game of contest it is not a war and more so we are from the same party: I always look at it that is a contest that we want to select somebody who will represent us in the 2016 elections.”
He said his decision to join the contest was informed by the youth and some opinion leaders in the Tamale Central constituency.”
Engineer Ibrahim Seidu admitted that the 2016 general elections will be tough and emphasized the need for party unity after the internal contest.
Hundreds of NDC members and sympathizers accompanied Engineer Ibrahim Seidu to the constituency office to pick his forms.
Meanwhile, Inusah Fuseini has already submitted his nomination forms.
