Opening of nominations ahead of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primaries has caused a mad rush for the forms in the various constituencies in the Northern Region.
[contextly_sidebar id=”5bFYDY81Jwt3hNZiqZkqkY4W90aD7EvC”]The entire region has 31 constituencies and the governing NDC can boast of representatives in 21 of them.
In the Tolon constituency, a 39 year former employee of Vanguard Insurance Company Limited is among four persons in the Parliamentary race.
Yussif Adam who was a Business Development Officer at Vanguard is optimistic about his chances of winning the Tolon seat in 2016.
Yussif Adam has pleaded with delegates of the expanded electoral college in the Tolon constituency to give him the nod.
“The Tolon seat is not the traditional seat of the NPP and so when I am giving the nod I will work hard to ensure that we unseat the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament, Hon. Wahab Suhuyini Wumbei,” he told Citi News.
The Tolon constituency NDC Secretary, Adam Yakubu implored all aspirants and their followers to be civil in their utterances.
He said the NDC should emerge united after the Parliamentary primaries to win the 2016 general elections.
This, according to Adam Yakubu, will enable President John Dramani Mahama accomplish his unfinished “Better Ghana Agenda.”
