Pressure group, Mass Action Committee is giving officials of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) a one-week ultimatum to suspend move to fill key positions at the Agency.

According to the group, the recent job advertisement by the Agency flouts recommendations of the committee set up by the Youth and Sports Ministry.

The Committee among others recommended that all modules under GYEEDA be suspended until a legal framework on the agency has been put in place.

Spokesperson for the group, Atik Mohammed in an interview with Citi News narrated that an advert was placed in the Daily Graphic requesting for proposals to run an ICT module under GYEEDA.

This, according to the group “is a clear betrayal of our cooperate commitment to see GYEEDA work.”

The group is therefore asking the National Coordinator of GYEEDA who placed the advert “to speak to this issue publicly because this is not the way we expected GYEEDA to operate.”

Mr. Mohammed alleged that the job advertisement is indicative of a plan to “reintroduce the old GYEEDA which lacks transparency, which had individuals do things the way they wanted and went unpunished…that trend cannot continue.”

He cautioned the management of GYEEDA to adhere to the action plan put in place by the various committees set up to restructure the Agency.
