Out-patient and emergency services have resumed at all government health centers after doctors called off their three-week old strike.

Even though the negotiations with government have been unsuccessful so far, the doctors have decided to go back to the hospitals to attend to patients.
According to the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), they called off the strike last Friday after numerous pleas from the public and some influential persons.
Meanwhile, negotiations are still ongoing with the government to see how best their demands can be met.
Citi News visits the Korle Bu and Ridge hospitals in Accra to ascertain the return of the medical doctors. At the Korle Bu Teaching hospital were hundreds of patients waiting in queue to be attended to. Some of the patients who were interviewed expressed excitement about the doctors return.
“I am glad they are back. I came here with my father and he has been attended to. I hope nothing of this sort happens again considering the number of lives that have been lost in the process” said a gentleman who was escorting his dad out of the hospital.
The situation was no different at the Ridge hospital as Citi News spotted a number of doctors, all attending to patients.
The atmosphere at these hospitals are the exact opposite of what was witnessed last week when some of the hospitals were recording zero or very few cases.
