You probably know him for his legal exploits but lawyer Ace Ankomah on his other side is a good music writer and a guitarist.
He is an arbitrator at the International Court of Arbitration, a former law lecturer at the University of Ghana and an astute private legal practitioner.
Though he has greatly excelled in his field as a lawyer, Ace Ankomah said he became a lawyer because he could not find any rich gospel musician when he was in the university.
“I weighed the two: when I got to my first year at Legon, I looked at law and looked at music; I didn’t find any rich gospel musician so I focused on law. This was in 1987,” Ace told the host of the Saturday Live entertainment show on Citi FM.
He subsequently decided to keep music as a passion and law as a profession.
If you have heard the song “Barima Yesu” by Joyful Ways Incorporated, then you should know that it was written by Ace and his wife, Josephine Annan-Ankomah who was the lead vocalist.
