Inter Allies’ bid to stay in the First Capital Plus Premier League was handed a huge boost after beating defending champions Asante Kotoko by a lone goal on Saturday.
Allies grabbed the winner through Safiu Abdul Fatawu with a freekick and the result pushed them up to 8th on the log with 34 points while Kotoko are still first with 51 points.
Hearts of Oak got a win to end their run of three winless matches after they beat Bechem United 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians scored with efforts from Emmanuel Hayford and Robin Gnagne with a penalty while Bechem’s Prosper Donkor got their consolation.
Hearts are 3rd on 41 points and Bechem United drop to 7th on 35 points.
Wa All Stars beat King Faisal at the Wa Park in a tough encounter at the Wa Park.
A second minute penalty by Abdul Ganiu Ismail settled the tie to send All Stars up to 4th on the log while Faisal are 11th with 33 points.
Ebusua Dwarfs were the round’s biggest win as they trashed Heart of Lions 4-1 in Cape Coast.
One goal each from Joseph Enstil, Richard Gadze and two from Frederick Boateng gave Dwarfs a needed victory to put them on 30 points but still in 16th place.
Lions grabbed their consoaltion through Kodzo Edem’s 87th minute penalty and they are now second with 41 points.
In other matches, Amidaus Professionals beat AshantiGold 2-1, Aduana put three past Berekum Chelsea in a Brong Ahafo Derby, New Edubiase went past Hasaacas by a lone goal.
