Aggrieved family members of the late Upper East Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Adam Mahama, on Tuesday stormed the Cocoa Affairs court in Accra and attacked relatives of national chairman of the party, Paul Afoko.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ymfoFcmBBZVszOv3PPFpVXwTJ3UdqUuq”]Paul Afoko’s brother, Gregory Afoko has been charged with conspiracy and murder of Adam Mahama who was killed after an acid attack.

Lawyers of Afoko had resorted to the Human Rights Court after being denied bail  a few times by a magistrate Court.

Citi News Fred Djabanor reported from the court that, the relatives of Adam Mahama came to the premises in a bus and started attacking relatives of Afoko.

He added that “one of Afoko’s sisters” was attacked in the process adding that “another family member of Adam Mahama also collapsed.”

Djabanor said it took the intervention of journalists and onlookers to “prevent Adam’s family from violently attacking the Afoko’s.”

Meanwhile the Human Rights court dismissed the application for bail by Gregory Afoko.

It had earlier emerged in court that the clothes  retrieved from Gregory Afoko’s hideout contained acid that killed Adam Mahama.

According to the Attorney General (AG), other materials such as the gallon containing the sulphuric acid, the burnt clothing of the deceased, substances retrieved from his vehicle, all contained the same sulphuric acid.
