The Tamale Metropolitan Security Assembly is to establish two more police stations in the metropolis to combat crime.

Additional satellite security posts will be established in some identified hotspots in the metropolis to flush out criminals.

Some of these areas include Aboabo, Changli, Zogbeli, Lamakara, Kalpohini and Nyanshegu.

A combined team of police and military personnel would be posted to these areas to maintain law and order.

This is one of the Assembly’s mapped out strategies to clamp down hooligans whose nefarious activities continue to frighten residents living in the metropolis.

Mayor of Tamale, Abdul Hanan Gundadoo disclosed this in an interview during which he condemned the recent shooting incidents in Tamale Township.

He said all assembly members have been tasked to assist security agencies to flush out criminals in their respective electoral areas.

“We have spoken to Assemblymen and women to identify locations within their electoral areas so that we will mount police tents there; the police will live amongst them to keep an eye on potential criminals.”
