Workers of the Volta River Authority and Northern Electricity Distribution Company (VRA/NEDCO) in the Upper West Region today closed their services to the public in protest against the Managing Director (MD), John Nuworklor and the HR officer, Debora Sunkari.
The two are alleged to have engaged in acts that are negatively impacting on the growth and development of the company.
The workers accuse the MD of intimidating workers and being vindictive in his style of leadership.
The also alleged that he sacked some casual workers and reshuffled area managers without following due procedure.
According to the workers, the HR officer is also being selective and does not have enough expertise to lead them.
The workers presented a petition to the Upper West regional minister at his office and are about to address the media.
Meanwhile some customers have expressed grave concerns about the decision to close down the offices.
