Filing fees

The party also pegged parliamentary filing fees at GH¢10,000.

Women and physically disabled presidential candidate aspirants will have a 50% discount and presidential aspirants will pay GH¢50,000.

Addressing the media after the National Executive Committee meeting, Asiedu Nketia said the party considered a lot of factors before arriving at what he calls the suitable date.

“According to our constitution, when we are in power we elect our candidates at least 12 calendar months before the general election. Because we are shifting to a new system, we have to does a lot of background work before we could take the decisions we have taken. We are also conscious about other activities on the national calendar and the timing of those activities have influenced the by a large extent the decision we have taken today as long as the election date is concerned,” he added.
