The Overlord of Gonjaland in the Northern Region, Yagbon-Wura Tuntumba Boresa II has appealed to government  to fix the Damongo water crisis.

The situation recently reached a worrying stage which compelled students in the area to sacrifice their studies in search of water.

As the traditional capital of Gonjaland, the water crisis in Damongo township is making life difficult for inhabitants.

At the inauguration of the Fufulso-Sawla road, the Overlord of Gonjaland, Yagbon-Wura Tuntumba Boresa II described the situation as a human security threat.

According to the Yagbon-Wura, the lack of water in the Damongo township is scaring investors.

He implored government to fix the problem as soon as possible.

“The Damongo water situation is still the same and this situation usually permits students to compete with their parents for water in Damongo: it is sad that students usually compromise their studies with the search for water in Damongo.”
