The executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern region,  have directed that all constituency party offices in the region should  be closed down until  the District Chief Executive for  Kwahu South, Joseph Omari  is  removed from office.

[contextly_sidebar id=”CFqznDVEM8yLlveIFl7LNanmwct2bwYZ”]The DCE, Joseph Omari allegedly pepper-sprayed two of the party executives last Thursday when a misunderstanding ensued between them in his office.

The party officials visited the DCE to inquire about the visit of the Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Bosiako-Sekyere to the area, but degenerated into violence.

Meanwhile, the chairman  of the NDC in the Mpraeso constituency together with other executives have been arrested by the Police.

They were last Friday remanded into Police custody.

The DCE and his constituency branch executives reportedly been at loggerheads for some time now, a situation which they say, continues to affect development in the area.

Speaking on behalf of NDC party executives, Johnson Amoh, constituency chairman for Atiwa, called on top officials of the party to facilitate the release of the party executives or all offices will be continue to be locked.

They further accused the security services in the area of  “twisting the arms of justice” in the handling the issue.

The executives threatened to halt work on the party’s “agenda 50/50” which was launched last June.

The Agenda 50/50 is a campaign by the NDC to split the votes of the electorates in the region equally with the main opposition party, NPP in the 2016 elections.
