The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), believes that it is wrong for government to meddle in labour issues by responding directly to workers’ demands

[contextly_sidebar id=”QxNnabCayVpQVEFosvE0pcWuxcWvbzea”]The union noted that government is usurping the authority of the National Labour Commission (NLC) and therefore it should refer all labour issues to the commission, which it described as the finest in Africa.

Mr Solomon Kotei, General Secretary of ICU, who was speaking on behalf of the union in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday said if the attitude is not changed every one would see the seat of government as the right place for redress.

“The ‘cry and take’ way of life must stop once and for all,” he added.

He said there are a number of reasons that prompt industrial action and therefore it is only the court that could determine, which is illegal.
